Last Mile. Best Mile.

At PFC Midstream, we provide customized, cost-effective “last mile” infrastructure solutions that connect our customers and their end users with natural gas deliveries. We design, construct, and interconnect new pipelines by utilizing our highly strategic midstream assets to plan and deliver natural gas directly to commercial and industrial end-users at reduced costs and flexible pricing.

We also thoughtfully review the acquisition of any third-party owned and operated pipelines, including the evaluation of the system’s integrity, safety mechanisms and potential environmental effects. If needed, we invest capital to optimize portions of the pipeline to ensure operational safety.

Additionally, when required we work closely with landowners and other community stakeholders to acquire and manage right-of-way and land for our midstream projects and comply with all applicable laws throughout the process.

An essential component of the energy mix

Natural gas plays a crucial role in supporting AI data and mining centers’ operations by providing a reliable, scalable, and environmentally efficient energy source, particularly in regions where the electrical grid faces capacity constraints or during peak demand periods. Its flexibility as a fuel source and compatibility with existing infrastructure make it an essential component of the energy mix for powering the digital economy.

Infrastructure, Operations and Scalability

As AI technologies expand and data and mining centers multiply, the demand for electricity rises. Natural gas power generation facilities can be scaled up relatively quickly compared to traditional coal or nuclear plants, allowing for rapid expansion of energy supply capacity.

PFC operates a network of natural gas pipelines and infrastructure strategically located near various industrial and commercial customers, including AI data and mining centers. This proximity facilitates easy access to natural gas as a primary or backup fuel source for onsite power generation. Our facilities are also equipped with state-of-the-art technology for monitoring and regulating gas flow, ensuring consistent delivery and optimal pressure levels required by the data and mining center.

Reliability and Security

Reliability is paramount in serving an AI data and mining center, where uninterrupted power supply is critical for continuous operation. PFC invests in robust infrastructure and redundancy measures to minimize downtime and ensure resilience against any potential disruptions. This includes backup systems and contingency plans to swiftly address any issues that may arise.

Environmental Considerations

Compared to coal-fired power plants, natural gas plants produce significantly fewer greenhouse gas emissions and air pollutants per unit of electricity generated making it a cleaner alternative when compared to some other forms of energy generation. Natural gas can serve as a transitional energy source as the grid shifts towards renewable energy. It provides a reliable backup to intermittent renewable sources like solar and wind, helping to maintain grid stability during periods of low renewable generation.

Recognizing the importance of sustainability, PFC implements practices to minimize environmental impact. This may involve employing advanced technologies for methane detection and reduction, as well as adhering to stringent environmental regulations and industry standards to promote responsible resource management.

Combined Heat and Power (CHP)

Natural gas cogeneration systems can simultaneously generate electricity and capture waste heat for use in heating or cooling systems. This combined heat and power approach improves overall energy efficiency and reduces operational costs for data and mining centers.

Partnership with AI Data and Mining Centers

PFC works closely with data and mining center operators to understand their energy needs and provide customized solutions. This collaboration may include flexible supply contracts, energy efficiency consultations, and proactive maintenance to optimize energy usage and reduce operational costs.

Innovation and Future Outlook

To stay ahead in a rapidly evolving industry, PFC explores additional renewable energy alternatives, such as biogas or hydrogen, that align with the data and mining center’s sustainability goals. Advancements in data analytics and predictive maintenance help enhance operational efficiency and reliability of the gas infrastructure.
